Design Concept
The class project was to design and build an elevated surface that contained at least one drawer.
As a designer I have grown to truly appreciate the triangle and its many uses, including stability and optical illusion. At certain angles one off the table’s legs disappears providing the illusion that it is precariously balanced.
Final Design
I chose a rich mahogany to contrast with the lightness of the white oak. The table stands 16” off the ground and occupies an area of 40”x20”. The inner drawer is 20”x20”20 and 9” deep.
