About

In the summer of 2017 I interned at Motiv design in Boston, they had recently purchased a Formlabs 3D printer but had not yet purchased a UV curing machine. They asked me if I would be able to create a curing machine out of an extra lid that they had acquired from Formlabs. They wanted an inexpensive curing machine, so I sourced low cost parts and used SolidWorks to arrange the components and plan out the assembly. I made the curling machine out of a mirrored rotating display, a UV nail curing device, a rocker switch, and some MDF.

This project was fun to create because it required tearing apart different products, doing some research, and meshing everything together to create a cohesive and functional design. As an intern it was also nice to do something that would have a lasting impact on the company.
